Get Better Not Bitter

I love music. I sang in high school and college. I am always listening to tunes whether at work, in the car, or dancing in the house. Music has the power to express our feelings when it is difficult for us to put them together.

Check out I’ll Find You by Lecrae ft. Tori Kelly. My favorite line in the song is:

“They say Don’t get bitter get better,
I’m working on switching them letters,
But tell God I’mma need a whole lotta hope keeping it together.”

These lyrics say it all when it comes to how I feel about waiting and infertility. It is hard not feeling bitter about our situation and I am continually working to switch those letters. Changing our attitude is a daily decision. It is not one and done. I need God every day to help me keep it together while we wait. I have had many a conversation/yell fest letting Him know exactly how I feel about our wait, which usually includes, anger, frustration, and bitterness. These are all natural feelings. What is important is what we do with them. This lyric is saying I need God to help me keep it together when I feel this way. It is much easier if we ask Him to change those letters, instead of trying to do it on our own. Talk to Him and ask for His help. He is always there in our wait; it is up to us to seek Him.
