Living Intentionally

My husband and I want our lives to be intentional. Synonyms include deliberate and purposeful. Putting it simply, your Yes means Yes and No means No. I like things to be black and white, so I identify with this very well, although life can be anything but sometimes. Believe me, I try my best to make it that way; blame my type A personality.

We live fully when we decide to live intentionally. To be deliberate and purposeful with our actions in our own lives, with others, and God. Intentional living builds trust because your words equal your actions. When you tell your friend you are going to pray for them, you do it. It is not something you say to make them feel better. It is making the phone call despite how scared you are because you said you would. It is spending 5 minutes every day in the Bible because you told your small group you wanted to get to know God more. It is following a dream, no matter how illogical it seems, because you told God, yes; I trust you.

John 10:10 says, “He came that we may have life and live it to the full.” This may be hard to believe when you look at your life. I know I have wondered that many times. I felt my life was not full because there was always something missing. What God is not telling us in this verse is that you can only live life to the full when you have ______ (insert baby, job, spouse, money, etc.). He is saying you can have a full life anytime, anywhere. You have a full life despite your circumstances. While this does not make our wait suddenly disappear, it does encourage us that we can fully Live in the Wait.

There is no waiting to live a full life; we already have it thanks to Jesus. I encourage you to look at your own life and find ways to live intentionally.
