2 Corinthians 5:7

2 Corinthians 5:7 – We live by faith, not by sight.

It’s typically easier to believe in something when you can see it. It doesn’t require much, if any faith, because well, you can see it. You know it is there. Faith translates to belief, faithfulness or trust. Simply put, it means believing something is true and committing to it. It is believing and trusting God, despite what you may see or not see in your life.

I really needed this verse last week. Many of the things I was seeing regarding our infertility journey were disappointing and discouraging. It was trying to steal my hope and make me believe that what I was seeing was truth. But here’s the thing, what we “see” in this life can be deceiving.

I’m not sure what things you did or didn’t see this week, month or year, but this is my encouragement for you. When you see something that steals your hope or tries to discourage you, I want you to stop what you are doing and say out loud, “I live by faith, not by sight.” Repeat it as many times as you have to. I’ve said that phrase multiple times when I felt doubtful of our journey. I know this is easier said than done. Doing this can be difficult when so many things you see are telling you the opposite of what you are hoping for. Saying this verse may not change what you immediately see, but as your faith begins to grow, God will work the impossible in your life. Whether that is changing your heart or hopefully one day seeing the very thing you have been praying for.

How do you live each day by faith?
