I can’t believe we are half way through 2018. Seriously, where does the time go? With that, I figured it would be good to give an update on our 2018 List. Ryan and I like lists, so at the beginning of the year we came up with 12 activities we wanted to accomplish, one for each month.
Well, what we accomplished looks nothing like the list we created at the beginning of the year. Why is this important to mention? As much as I like plans and crossing things off, the goal of creating our 2018 List was bigger than perfectly checking them off. It was to experience something new, strengthen our marriage, and more importantly, allow us to Live in the Wait. To take our focus off infertility, if only for one activity. To feel like a normal couple without the huge burden of infertility burrowing its way into our daily lives.
It was also a gentle reminder that sometimes things don’t go as planned, and that’s okay. I know that’s a rather simple way of stating it, but it’s so relevant to waiting. It flips life upside down, but when that happens, I access the situation, put one foot in front of the other and try again. I keep living, and you can too. Remove the pressure of expectations and doing things perfectly to live in complete freedom and grace. That’s exactly what we plan to do with the rest of our list.
Do you create a bucket list? I’d love to hear your ideas. Share below!
