Some of you may be wondering what’s been happening in our world as our due date has come and gone. Expected arrival was May 11, and here we are, 4 days past and let’s just say, I’ve had to do a few mindset resets as our current situation is not something I was prepared for. I was mentally prepared to go 40 weeks, but after that, not so much.
I was SO sure she was coming last weekend that when she didn’t, I had to give myself a mental jump start to get my emotions in check and think clearly again.
Maybe you can relate. You were so sure something was going to happen, that when it didn’t, you were left rather confused and at a loss as to now what am I supposed to do?
This lesson in waiting reminded me, that sometimes the encouragement we need, has to come from within. Trust me, Ry has done a great job of encouraging me this entire pregnancy, especially these past few days, but ultimately, I had to shift my mindset. I had to speak encouragement into my life to change my mentality about our situation.
The truth is, we can receive all the encouragement in the world from friends, family, social media, but sometimes it doesn’t do the trick. That’s why it’s important to be able to encourage ourselves. Believe you are worthy of giving yourself encouragement, just as much as you are receiving it from others.
So for this month’s E+DAY, I want you to encourage yourself. Maybe that looks like going for a walk, watching your favorite movie, picking up your favorite treat, reading a book or getting a massage. Whatever it is, I want you to make it a priority to encourage yourself. If you don’t know that that looks like, do yourself a favor, and take the time to learn what it is.
I know I’m a day late in spreading this message (maybe that’s where our baby gets it from), but I want you to know, encouraging yourself is something you have the power and control to do every. single. day.
Not sure what E+DAY is? Check out this page for more info… I know you are curious!
